taking risks

We all take risks in life. We've all heard of the risk of crossing the street. If you're lucky you'll get hit by a bus and die instantly. Unfortunately you have to be careful with that, you can't commit suicide. This makes God unhappy. Now God May plan on killing you that day anyway, but it has to be God's way. So don't take your own life.

This was supposed to be about taking risks. And on vacation we sometimes take greater risks than we take in our daily routine. On vacation we're in new places and we're doing activities that are unusual. We may be doing water activities or water sports. We may be doing athletic activities that are unusual for us. We may be going to foreign countries which look exotic and desirable on the brochure but when you get there you smell the odor of wild animals and human waste. You find out that elephants occasionally trample people on vacation. Occasionally a lion or rhinoceros or an alligator kills people on vacation. You imagine taking incredible photos of these wild animals at distance only to find out that your vacation is right in the middle of their natural habitat. A habitat where they kill stuff everyday and eat it. And today you're on the menu.

Then there are places that have ancient ruins and ancient religious sites and exotic locations. You get there to find out that they've been basically at war for the last 6,000 years. People are disappearing all the time and occasionally vacationers get caught in the crossfire.
